Thanksgiving Trip

Mom and I went to see Nephew #3, Bruce, for Thanksgiving down in Louisianna! It took us a day and a half to get there. If my brother drove us we may have been there sooner but I took my time and we spent the night in Texas. Isn't he's so adorable? I've got so many pics on him I couldn't upload them all but I've got these three. The picture on the left is grandma holding him and on the right is him in his Christmas suit. He's growing up so fast! He's already learned to walk around in his walker and learned to roll over. Soon he'll be crawling and I'll have missed it. I have two other nephews here in Albuquerque and I enjoy them very much but I can't wait for the day when Bruce calls me Auntie Cea! I know he'll have forgotten who I am by this time but it was wonderful to play with him. The weather was just right for the first three days and the last two it got windy and cold! Brrr! We spent most of our days indoors and the other time we went looking for small souvenirs in the towns nearby. I took Bruce for a walk one afternoon when it was really muggy and hot. However halfway through our walk, it started raining so we had to book it back to the house. He's trying to reach for my camera and I forget that babies at that age love to put things in their mouths or bang things around. So I came home with scratched up glasses, wet purse straps, and a little banged up camera. Which is all fine because he's such a cutie-putie I didn't mind at all.
During the weekend of Nov. 2nd through the 4th, I've got to spend some time with my girls! It was fun, I thought it would be since the dates were in the range of my birthday!! I've only included one picture because I wasn't sure which one was acceptable to the girls. We mostly ate out and Caroline gave us all heart failure when we drove around San Antonio!! Just kidding, Caro! Just poking fun! I didn't take as much pictures as I have liked to but next year I believe our plan is to go waaayyy down southeast, like Florida!! Never been there, so during that time, if Lord willing, I will take many more pics.

Fall Is Here!

I love the beginning of the Fall season. The nights are cooler, the temp in mid days average to be in the low 80's, the colors of the leaves turn yellow, orange and red. It's all so exciting because I know that just right around the corner are the Holidays. Of course there's Halloween first. The costumes and decorations of orange and black fills up aisles and aisles at the mall or specialty stores. Not to mention the array of colorful wrappings of candy that says, "grab me, I'm yummy!" greeting you at the entrances of all the grocery and shopping centers. Listening to the radio, even, you hear a commercial with howls, screams and eerie blowing wind because they want you to come and experience a haunted barn, house or garage! It's just sooo much fun to listen and see the excitement. Walking around the neighborhood, I can see front doors with a hanging wreath with fall deco or there are pumpkins on the front porches. Soon the morning frost will be present on the windshields and I'll see my breath in the cool air. Perhaps for those in the Northern region of the country, they'll see thick white flakes covering the ground. Maybe on a walk in the evenings I might smell the aroma of pumpkin spice or apple cinnamon. Perhaps I can convince my nephew to get a decorated handmade turkey drawing and put it on my fridge to remind me Thanksgiving is coming. Yay! I love the Fall.

Happy Birthday!

Una and Berta
Kathy
As much as I don't like living here in Albuquerque, there is one reason why I stay here and that's because I have a family that keeps me here. Most times they are a good distraction from depression or lonliness. I have two of my nephews that give me joy when I see them with a smile on thier faces, I have a sister who is my bank, my grocery store, and my laundry mat, when I have no funds to take care of my needs. Of course she's also someone who I can just go and have a chat with, whenever I get tired of talking with my cat! More than that, I have a good friend in my sister-in-law, Berta, who I can vent my frustrations to or just have a small girl talk. I have another friend, Kathy, whom I don't see as often (she lives in Missouri). They just both recently celebrated a birthday. I love them both because they are good friends who are hard to find. They both are beautiful, understanding, and caring women. They both deserve much love and joy. Happy Birthday Kathy and Berta! I pray that God will bless you with many more wonderful birthdays!
