A Little Family Trip to Vegas
My brother has always been a Dale Earnhardt and Jr fan. Everytime he and his family come to stop by my place for a visit, he jumps on the computer and checks out the site, Nascar.com. One November afternoon, he wished aloud that he could attend the Las Vegas race in March. He kept going on and on about this so we finally decided that we should make plans to go just to quiet him down (I know, it's like giving a little kid candy just so he would stop whining but you do so anyway). Nevertheless, we actually ended up going to Vegas. I really didn't think I was going to have fun but in the end I thoroughly enjoyed myself, not because the race took place in Las Vegas, granted afterwards for dinner we did eat at one of the casinos and took a small cruise on the strip but I didn't enjoy that as much as I took pleasure in watching the cars racing at high speeds around the track! It was loud and a little hot but I believe it was the enthusiasm of the crowd that got me going. There were so many "oooohs!, aaawwws!, grrrrs!, wooo-hooos!, and yeahs!" I found myself standing up cheering and rooting for Dale Jr. I've come home since and looked Dale Jr. up and even though he didn't win that race, after reading his biography and visiting his websites and other sites of him, I liked him so now he's one of my favorite Nascar drivers. So I've included a couple of pictures of our trip. Pictures don't give the exact same feeling I've gotten when I was there but even so I hope you enjoy these.....
